3.1How many catalogs do you need, what are they called, which business unit or channel does each serve, and which is the default? Give the category and subcategory tree.

3.2Counts: simple products, bundles, product classifications, attribute definitions.

3.3Product master data for every product.

3.4Attributes: every attribute definition, its data type, picklist values, unit, default, and which attribute category groups it.

3.5Classifications: the classification and subclassification tree, which attributes each inherits, and which products override an inherited attribute.

3.6Do different product families need different field sets (for example, hardware versus software versus service)? If yes, list the product specification types, their record types, and their fields.

3.7Selling models: for each product, is it sold one-time, term-defined, or evergreen? Give allowed term lengths and units, the default term, and whether the same product is sold under more than one model (for example, monthly or annual).

3.8Units of measure: unit classes, units, and conversion factors. Do any products sell in decimal quantities, and at what precision?

3.9Do you group products as variants of one parent (for example, size or color)? If yes, list the variation attribute sets, parents, and children.

3.10Which languages must product names, descriptions, attributes, picklist values, and categories be translated into?

3.11Should only products with an entry in the transaction's price book appear when reps add products?

3.13Do you need to deep-clone a product together with its components and attributes?

3.14Who maintains the catalog, in which source of truth (PIM, ERP, spreadsheet), and how often does it change? May the agent load it by CSV?

3.15Do you want Einstein to generate product descriptions? If yes, describe the tone and length.

3.16Does any downstream system need a product-level tax or billing code carried on the product? Name the field and its allowed values.

3.17Do products have launch and retirement dates? What should happen to open quotes and active assets when a product is retired?
